Lord, Your Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation
Sometimes I wonder if these entire positive attitude and thoughts are just psychological – it’s all in the mind. The struggle with the carnal mind, logic and reason is always opposing that of the spirit - which is knowing the truth about God...truly knowing God...and not about God.Let’s start with positive attitude. We tell ourselves that our future is in the hands of a greater being who is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. Hence we place our trust and our sense of security there.
Plainly speaking, it just seems like we are simply “psyching” ourselves up to be in the right frame of mind...to be positive about things. Well, if you know about self-help books, the writers or 'gurus' advocate positive thinking - telling yourself that you can do it and all those positive thinking and attitude stuff.
Somehow it draws a parallel - not identical, but a somewhat similar notion of thought. See that is when our ability to reason and our ability to process information and facts logically come in. And these are carnal; these are of the flesh. It is us telling ourselves positive things; thinking positive stuff.
Reason and logic tend to oppose the spiritual things of God, simply because God is above all reason and logic. He is simply because He IS. He exists simply because He exists. He created just simply by words spoken, and just these alone are beyond logic, reason and explanation.
The difference its that, for self-help, it is self-centred. What are taught do not have anything to base themselves on. But the positive things of God that we remember like promises of the bible, are based on the truth.
Would we "psycho" ourselves positively because this is the only way to feel better, and there is a proper reason to do so? Or would we allow reason and logic determine our attitude? The reason and logic of our minds will try (although often proven unsuccessful...that is why we need faith - faith in God) to reason out the truth in the Bible through logical means. And if u think about it, sermons and Bible study sessions are mere channels by which the truth of God's words are logically explained and thus we accept them “reasonably” in our everyday life application.
Understanding of God’s words does not depend on mere logic and reasoning in their entirety. On the contrary, understanding of God's words depends TOTALLY on the Holy Spirit's wisdom and revelation in our lives. In other words, wisdom and revelation are God's spiritual channels of reason and logic.
Man's channels of reason and logic are carnal. That’s the difference...

A note of Thank You - to Jesus
It's been a long time...don't ask me why...but since I'm back here's what I have. Who knows when my next entry will be...Cheers.My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could, it'd all be grey
But Your promise in my heart
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad
I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there,
They'll all imply that I might not last the day
And then You called me and it's not so bad
It's not so bad…
I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with You is having the best day of my life
Pushed the door,
I'm home at last and I'm soaking through and through
Then I got myself a towel and all I thought of were You
And even if my house falls down now
I wouldn't have a clue
Because You're near me
And I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life
Find this familiar? Guess...=)
